Today in our Peacemakers circle time, we discussed what conflict was and the different stages of conflict. 4BC creatively thought of ideas to solve conflict in different scenarios.
4BC worked hard and co-operatively to create a pyramid of plastic cups without using their hands! They used an elastic band with string attached to manoeuvre the plastic cups as a team!
As part of our Road Trip USA topic, 4BC worked hard to create the American flag using an illusion.
4BC loved exploring all of the books at Hall Green Library this week! Remember to keep reading all of those books that were checked out of the library!
There are lots of benefits of reading! Here are a few..
- Increases your imagination
- Helps to build your vocabulary
- Increases your concentration
- Improves your memory
- Can make you an excellent writer!
This week we looked at the power of punctuation, especially within poems as it changes the way we read by using different expressions! 4BC added their own punctuation to a poem called ‘My Brother Helps Out’ and performed it to the class.
Here is a copy of the poem. What other expressions could you put in? Have a go at home with your family..
My Brother Helps Out
Can I help you make the cake, Mum?
Please, let me, I know how,
I can do it, ple-ee-ee-ze! Oh thank you!
Let me have it. Right. What now?
Oh yes, I knew that, this is easy,
I’ll be careful, I won’t hurry,
Whisk it like this, right? I’m okay,
Honest I can do – oops! sorry.
